It provides knowledge on Radio Frequency (RF) and 802.11 technology essentials, and includes tasks related to installing, configuring, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of wireless networks.
The course is instructed by David Biggers, a professional IT instructor with four years of experience teaching for the US Army.
The course consists of 15 training hours, 55 videos, 20 topics, and 245 practice questions.
The CCNA Wireless certification, which this course is associated with, requires you to have a valid Cisco CCENT or higher certification. It is also recommended that you have a basic understanding of networking (VLANs, IP addresses, standard subnetting, basic routing) to focus on the wireless aspects of networking without being hindered by concepts that are implied but not explained.
The exam tests your knowledge of Wi-Fi in general, and specifically of Wi-Fi implementation in Cisco networks. It includes configuration, maintenance, and limited troubleshooting, as well as participation in a site survey. You will need to understand concepts specific to Cisco, like mobility groups, RF groups, RRM, PoP/PoA, MA/MC, etc. Additionally, you should be able to train on at least one of the interfaces (autonomous, AireOS, Meraki, IOS XE).
